Ti Chang is an industrial designer, activist, and conceptual artist who deliberately moves between art and design. She creates unexpected juxtapositions through her designed objects that aesthetically explore identity, feminism, and cultural norms by blending art, activism, and design.
As an established industrial designer, her work in pleasure products for over 15 years has brought a new definition of luxury in intimacy products. She is the co-founder and chief design officer at CRAVE, a pleasure house elevating pleasure through aesthetics and innovation.
She is best known for the design of Vesper vibrator necklace in 2014, one of the most celebrated and iconic pleasure products, often seen on A-list celebrities that inspire sensual empowerment and provoke cultural conversations. Ti has won international design awards –including Red Dot, Good Design, Fast Company’s Innovation By Design–and were among the first pleasure products to be adopted by mainstream retailers such as Nordstrom, Goop, including a collaboration with Saint Laurent.
Prior to CRAVE, Ti bootstrapped her first company INCOQNITO in 2008, a line of intimate accessories that double as fashionable jewelry which was acquired by CRAVE in 2010. Earlier, Ti held positions with major consumer brands, including Trek Bicycle and Goody Products, where she helped pave the way for women by serving as the first female industrial designer at both Trek and Goody.
In 2020, she was featured in the award-winning documentary “The Dilemma of Desire.” Ti is a classically trained industrial designer with an M.A. in Design Products from the Royal College of Art in London and a B.S. in Industrial Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Ti is a champion of improving the inclusivity in the industrial & product design industry. In addition to her work at CRAVE, Ti is a sought-after speaker and lecturer, and has given talks at conferences and universities around the world. Ti was a key part of establishing the Women in Design professional chapters of Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). She now serves on the advisory board of CRAVE Foundation for Women.
