I was born in Taiwan and raised in Atlanta by immigrant parents; both serious academics. My mother has a Masters in Botany and my father has a Masters in Molecular Biology, however my dad always had the hustling spirit. When they arrived in the US with their barely-working English- the most logical thing to do was to start a furniture retail business. Of course, neither of them had any business experience, naturally they were my perfect role models for entrepreneurs.
LEFT TO RIGHT: My brother Joey, Kym, and I. My mom, dad and little ol' me. NOTE: My youngest sister Linda (we are 12 years apart) is not shown here because I felt it would disrupt the throwback aesthetics. Sorry Linda! ;-)
We didn’t have a lot of money, by watching my parents work so diligently, left an incredible sense that anything was possible if you worked hard enough. So growing up, I didn’t really have a childhood. I never went to any cool parties, on the weekends I was either studying or working at my parents' store. If I wasn’t then I was made to feel guilty about why I wasn’t studying or working.
I’m sharing this to help you understand my neurotic work ethic.

I was a global nomad unable to commit to an annual phone plan. After Atlanta, I lived in Madison (Wisconsin), London, several parts of China, New York, and Boston. It's funny how I never thought of myself as an American until I lived outside of the US. Fortunately, I am now living in San Francisco with my wonderful boyfriend Hank and my ridiculously adorable dog Mac. I love San Francisco not only because of the tech start-up culture but also the amazing outdoors Bay Area has to offer just minutes or hours outside of the city. You can see some of my daily shenanigans in my instagram feed below. Due to the nature of my work, it can occasionally be NSFW- so consider yourself warned.
